Israel and Iran have met for the first time in 30 years to discuss the creation of a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East. But when news came out of the meeting which took place on September 29 and 30, Tehran was quick to deny its having taken place. Any sign of willingness to negotiate might be read domestically as a weakness on the part of the regime.
